LONG BEACH, CA - APRIL 6 Emerson Fittipaldi was inducted into the Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame. Fittipaldi , one of the world’s most recognized drivers, took second place at the Toyota Grand Prix in 1985 and 1990, and third place in 1980, 1989 and 1992. The Brazilian, who began racing motorcycles at age 14, is a two-time winner of both the Formula One World Championship (1972 and 1974) and the Indianapolis 500 (1989 and 1993). He won the Indy Car World Series Championship in 1989, and has a total of 40 wins across Formula One and Indy cars.
The induction ceremony kicked off the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach weekend, which brings more than 180,000 people to Downtown Long Beach.
