Australia's Will Power roared through the field from 12th starting position in his Team Penske Chevrolet to win the IZOD IndyCar Series Race at the 38th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
It was the furthest back any driver has come to win at Long Beach since Michael Andretti took the checkered flag after starting 15th in 2002.
Power, who also won here in 2008 driving a Champ Car, beat French rookie Simon Pagenaud by 0.8675 seconds in the 85-lap race, with Canada's James Hinchcliffe finishing third. For both Pagenaud and Hinchcliffe, it was their best career finishes in the IZOD IndyCar Series.
